It is the 30’s Ciro Massimino d’Amico trasforms his timber trading company into a shipping activity and in the 50’s his sons Antonio, Ciro and Salvatore d’Amico create d’Amico Società di Navigazione S.p.A.
In the 60’s and 70’s the business grows and includes the transport of crude oil and refined oil products and the opening of lines to the Americas.

In the mid 80’s Paolo, Ciro’s son, and Cesare, Salvatore’s son, take on the company’s management whilst in the following decade the fleet increases and includes bulk carriers. In 1998 the group acquires Italia di Navigazione S.p.A., consolidating its leadership on the route between the Mediterranean and the Americas. From 2000 on, the group’s international growth leads to the opening of new branches abroad besides the historical one in Rome and the offices in Genoa and Montecarlo.
In 2007 the d’Amico International Shipping, the company that manages the tankers, is listed at the Stock Exchange in Milan.

In 2014 the group starts a massive modernization of its fleet, with investments that bring forward the international standards and confirms the brand’s care for the environment.
Today, with Paolo and Cesare at the helm, the sons are getting ready to manage the company’s future.

DACC TIRRENO

The design of the ship DACC Tirreno represents the state-of-the-art of global shipbuilding and is one of the most safe, sustainable, high quality and efficient existing ships.

The ship was built in co-operation between the Coeclerici and d’Amico groups.
The DACC Tirreno, is the first of four Supramax ships from the fleet owned by DACC Maritime Limited, and represents an excellence of global shipping in terms of sustainability, quality and efficiency.
The propulsion, innovative solutions for navigation, special compartments for bunkering and re-use of the water used to wash the holds guarantee to save around 6/7 tons of fuel compared to similar ships and make the DACC Tirreno one
of the most sustainable on a global scale.
