Becoming a member of the association means support an invaluable cultural heritage. It means participate, share and promote Genoa’s Maritime Museums system and its rich events calendar: exhibitions, shows and cultural promotional events.

The Associazione Promotori dei Musei del Mare was born to make this heritage available to the city and to visitors and to maintain this richness, material and cultural, for future generations.
Heirs of this tradition, we keep on working so that the historical and professional heritage, the strategic and managerial abilities, the technical innovation set over centuries can become an inspiration to the young.
To be a Promoter means to be proud of having launched a fantastic ship, to become one means to sail safe on a course set in 1996.
It means to create and work on more interesting, spectacular, instructive events for the public, better to many different publics who are becoming more and more demanding, informed and selective.
It means to ensure that Genoa can keep its role in promoting the culture of the sea that makes Mu.MA. a reference on an international level too.
It means shifting from the word “promoter” to its implementation: a ceaseless movement forward, on a course that is typical of seafarers.
And finally, it mean a series of “material” benefits that are appreciated by those working in shipping: free tickets, previews visits, dedicated meeting, availability of spaces like the auditorium and the Art Room at the Galata for shows, congresses, meeting with the associates or private events and other business opportunities.
The Galata Museo del Mare and the other structures that make Genoa’s Maritime Museum system are a sort of club, where clients and partners can be invited. It’s like home, an additional living room or one’s office meeting room in an environment that tells the story of discoveries, adventures, lives and work on the sea.

The Association aims at to maintain and promote the heritage and the exhibits kept at the Galata Museo del Mare, at the Naval Museum of Pegli and at the Commenda di San Giovanni di Prè.
We are a no-profit organization made of several companies from the Genoese shipping business. Our association is inspired by the anglo-saxon cultural foundations.
